A Nature Hotel on a Natura 2000 classified site
The Natura 2000 network is at the heart of European policy making for nature conservation. It consists of a group of natural sites, both land and sea based, picked out for the rarity or the fraility of the wild types of flora and fauna they are home to. The Mas des Sables has been built in accordance with these natural surroundings classification. So, the different buildings that compose it : the bedroom pavillons, the Villa, the restaurant, are scattered over a park of 7 hectares planted with local varieties of Mediterranean plants. In the midst of the tamarisks, the pomegranate trees and the oleanders there are a large swimming pool and a break out area with a ping-pong table, a net for volleyball, a place for playing boules and a children's playground.
The Camargue on the doorstep of your secondary residence
The privileged situation of the Mas des Sables gives direct acces to the banks of the Canal du Rhône à Sète that joins the lake of Thau to the Rhône, prolonging in this way the Canal du Midi. On foot or by bicycle, you can gain acces via this managed towpath to the classified site of the marshes of the Tour Carbonnière, one the finest in the part of the Camargue that lies in the department of Gard. It's a picturesque spot, offering a unique panorama of the Little Camargue, where you can find a reed bed home to different protected species of birds such as the Ashen Heron and Egrets, where you'll be able to photograph bulls browsing, pink flamingos stopping off and wild swans that have chosen to build their nests there.
